Conquer Overwhelm by using Success Principle 8: Chunk It Down
A great way to conquer overwhelm and increase productivity is to take American author and humorist Mark Twain’s advice.
“The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex, overwhelming tasks into small, manageable tasks and then starting on the first one.”
This success principle of chunking down your large overwhelming tasks into smaller manageable ones can be used for literally any goal or task that you find overwhelming right now.
That could be feeling overwhelmed by cleaning up and re-organizing your home office.That could be feeling overwhelmed by learning how to use your social media in a new way – like doing a FB Live or IGTV, feeling overwhelmed with transitioning your business from a more brick and mortar or in person business to serving your customers and clients online or it could involve feeling overwhelmed going to the grocery store.
To anything that you find overwhelming right now, you can apply the Chunk it Down Success Principle. Now when you’re chunking down your overwhelming task or goal, I recommend using a pen and paper to write things down because when you physically write things down it activates parts of the brain that can help with creativity – something that doesn’t happen when we’re typing on a computer. But you do what works best for you.
