Do we really need to hustle harder?
Are you tired of hearing that you need to “hustle harder”, “be more productive” and “burnout is your badge of honour”?
Ya, me too!
As a female entrepreneur (Stress and Bodymind Expert, Success Mindset Coach, Digital Course Developer and Speaker), I’ve done some amazing training over the years with some top male and female entrepreneurs and coaches.
What I’ve come to notice, though, is the stark contrast in the language that’s often used by many male compared to female entrepreneurs and coaches. As an example, one male top performance coach whose book I’ve read and YouTube videos I’ve watched recently made a social media post that grabbed my attention – in a not good way. His language was all about “keep fighting” and “write on your war board in your war room” to achieve your goals.
Wait what? Are we manifesting a business/career and life that is fulfilling and helps others or going to fight a war?
Yes, of course, manifesting a business/career and life that is rewarding and successful takes work. A lot of work. But I’m going to let you in on a little secret… There’s a better way to do it that doesn’t involve hustling and grinding harder! There’s a better way where you don’t have to sacrifice your wellbeing to achieve your goals.
The truth is, calm is your power.
Here are 3 things you need to know so you can create success in your work and life without the burnout!
- When you’re in hustle and grind mode, your brain is actually in fight or flight mode. This is your survival mode, not your creative, manifesting and flourishing state.
- Calming your mind and your brain doesn’t just happen on its own. It also doesn’t happen by doom scrolling through social media or by binge watching Netflix. (Sorry! lol)
- To calm your mind and brain so that you can be productive, come up with creative solutions and avoid burnout, you need to be using simple but powerful tools regularly throughout your day – every day! Your once-a-week yoga class (while helpful for a few hours), isn’t going to cut it.
Here are some things you can do:
- Take 10 deep breaths in and out once an hour has a great calming effect on your brain. You can also use a mantra like “I breathe in relaxation. I breathe out tension.”
- Look at photos that make you smile. This causes your brain to produce natural feel-good brain chemicals.
- Do EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) Tapping. It’s a proven way to calm your nervous system. To learn more, click here:
